Why Is Employee Retention Important?

The HR or the human resources department of a company is involved in every part of the recruitment process. It may be through the interviewing of the applicants, the selection of the candidates, offering job interview training for the existing staff and the on-boarding of recruits. All these activities are part of the whole recruitment process. why is employee retention important? To ensure that all these activities are well done, each department should have its own strategy in line with its specific area of responsibility.

The basic reason why is employee retention important? A company cannot simply remove a batch of employees because their performance levels are not satisfactory. They should select those employees with high potentials to contribute to the growth of the business. This is the only way that you can get the desired results from the recruitment process.

When companies decide to hire new talents, it is important to identify the right candidate. This can be done by conducting periodic recruiting tests and evaluating the skills, experience, attitudes and capabilities of the job seekers. If your company is using the onboard recruitment method, then you need to constantly review the list of applicants to identify potential candidates who match the requirements of the job description and the type of position.

Employee retention can also be achieved by encouraging and promoting the workers on career development. There are many examples of encouraging career development where the employers have set different targets for the employees in their organization. For example, there may be a short term goal for the employees to complete their existing level of training. It could be followed by their continued participation in career development programs that would give them the necessary skill sets required for the growth and development of their careers.

By integrating an effective talent retention management system with an effective onboarding and induction process, you can see the benefits immediately. An evaluation will show that there is no gap in the knowledge and skills of the candidates. The employees will also feel more involved and have a sense of involvement in their workplace.

Why is employee retention important? If your company culture is based around the values of your organization, you can have a high employee retention rate. This is because people want to work for a company that is successful and progressing. Strong and vibrant company culture is based on strong leadership, continuous promotion and excellent performance by its employees and managers, and a supportive environment for the people who are leaving the company.
